President's Welcome

It is a great honour to be elected as your Club President in our 40th year. After one year at the University, the characters within our Club never fail to surprise me and I look forward to contributing in my new role as President.

Cambridge University Rugby League Football Club was founded in 1980 by Club legend Dick McConnell. The Club has gone from strength to strength since, with the current men’s team playing weekly BUCS fixtures, on a Wednesday, in the South East Division.

We welcome players of all abilities, and from both codes! We train multiple times a week, with an emphasis on getting the right balance between high-level university sport and having a good time with your mates. With a dedicated Social Secretary, our Club has as much character off-the-field as it does on it.

The Club currently has Half-Blue status with discretionary Full-Blue status. This is dependent on our performance in the BUCS South East Division and the highlight of our season, the Varsity Match.

We hope you will join us on our journey for the 2020/21 season. Although disrupted by COVID-19, our club is determined to continue our progress and enjoy a good year of rugby league.
